‘Traps’ have existed for some time and are an extremely effective way of keeping bad smells away from areas exposed to drain systems. However there has never been a development that utilises a biological cleaning block to assist with the break down of fats, oils, and greases (FOG).
As well as acting as a traditional waste trap, the Ecotrap houses a rotating biological block in the centre of the main chamber which disperses a small amount of ‘bug’ each time liquid passes through to the drain. This helps break down nasty substances while giving off a mild fragrance to ensure no bad smells are able to reach the outside environment.
Another key feature is a comb-like filter within the unit which stops large objects passing in to the drain system and causing future problems. If the flow is restricted then the bottom of the trap can be unscrewed to inspect the device.
